I had a mentor who insisted that “inspiration will let you down.” Meaning that if you sit around and wait for the right moment or feeling to hit you before you can sit down and write, well…prepare to be disappointed.
I’ve found myself to be rather guilty of that as of late. Playing Angry Birds, lingering on Facebook, etc. So I’m trying something new. A blog. It’s an effort to get out a few warm up words as I embark on 3 major projects: a series based on 1950’s pulp fiction novels, a feature film, and a short. They’re all in various stages of completion, and are all very exciting endeavors.
Right now I am writing six episodes of “The Chanticleer,” and plan to shoot it in the fall. My feature, “The Road to Poughkeepsie” is ready and I am looking for funding. “Fairy Dust,” a really beautiful short is partly filmed and is getting a rewrite on the second half. This should be ready for the 2013 festival circuit.
So time to get cracking. :)
